Try to get a psp with a broken screen on ebay and swap the screen or laser around. Youll get it done cheaper that way instead of sending it for repairs.[addsig]

Um, hope this helps.
1. Turn on the auto-start UMD thingy in Settings.
2. Make sure there's a UMD in the tray.
3. Hold the power switch until the power light turns off.
4. Turn your PSP on.

Maybe the UMD will start. [I hope]

hey dont worry.. im experienced in this. The same thing happened to me and i almost cried :-( . I kep blowing in the UMD Drive for days then i found out something :-D .
Here's the Solution:
1) Open yur UMD Drive or the thing yu put yur UMD disc in.
2) LOok for the lens that reads the disk it should be a little box with a lens or little eye on top of it that reads the disc.
3) Wipe it off with yur finger to make sure its clean.
4) Remember use your finger not any clothes that may leave remainaings that could ruin your PSP.
5) Then finally close the drive annd put in a disc that you know works.
6) if it works then put in your other disc you were about to play and TA-DA  ! yur psp is now up and working again.
