Very bad. Less chances of you getting the fun out of the psp if you do upgrade to this security update.[addsig]

How ever, you'll probably be safe from that for a short while, I heard somewhere that new games might completely refuse to work unless you patch up to the lastest version (Well... the version in which the game was made during anyway)[addsig]

Ok i might be way of the mark here but if you can get the American update onto your computer will you be able to update the Jap PSP's with it. Would this make you able to play American UMD movies on them or is the region coding in part of the hardware? [addsig]

Your right, but there arn't that many new games comming out for a while. Also, I've read that the new games will update your firmware without asking you. They will have the firmware on the disc, so you don't have to download it.

I think it's safe to wait on the download for a while. Then again, if you don't plan to throw emulators on your PSP, then go ahead and download it.[addsig]

Maybe they're putting out these "securiy updates" to scramble the encyption and keep us from ever running our own code. Anyway ive waited too long for v. 1.5 to be cracked to upgrade.[addsig]

No updating for me. I have no personall info on there and unless I'm mistaken there are no virus/trojans/worms/etc out there for the PSP. So I don't really see how this will make my game play any more "secure". Sorry Sony if you want me update you better provide better support for the PSP. Hmmm like setting my own wall paper.[addsig]

I heard on the E3 live that there could be possible viruses and trojens that could freeze your PSP. But they did'nt say anything about this update exactly. Plus it was about how the new xbox can help to surcure our PSP's. [addsig]
