emulators have always been around and always will be.

I would really like to play old school gameboy games on the PSP because back then they were hella fun and still provide enjoyment even today. Look back at mario. I still play the Super Mario that was on the NES and alot of the mario games. Nintendo made alot of money when they started releasing old school gameboy games onto the GBA. You could go buy the real original old school games but the carthridge will be twice the size. but instead of paying 5-6 bucks at the local gamestore people are willing to dish out 40 bucks.

Thisi s how popular old games are. I for one would love to see a working SNES emulator because the SNES is what got me into gaming in the first place. Back then nothing was like the SNES, maybe the genesis but the SNES had so many games and i went as far as to drive to many game stores to find an original SNES controller and a USB converter from liksang.com to play my emulator.

Its real fun to play old retro games because they are simple yet very addictive games. Even now tetris is still one of the most played puzzle games. You can find tetris for just about every graphing calculator. its on the web. and many gameboy owners still have their old games to use with their GBA.

But back to the subject. Its good to see Sony taking some action. But to the homebrew world they havnt paid much attention. Sony should open its doors to homebrew but the fact remains that its still illegal for a sony product to play games that its not licensed for. Its like if the Ps2 could play xbox games. Im pretty sure alot of GBA/DS fanboys are outraged that the PSP can play GB games and stuff but PSP fanboys would be the same if the DS could play PSP games.

Sony is responsible for its products no matter how anyone uses it. Its like the dumb person who bought an RV and drove it on the highway. He put it on cruise control and went in the back to make coffee. The RV took and off ramp and crashed. He sued the RV company because they didnt say he COULDNT DO THAT. He won and got i think a new RV and 700k.

the point is thats a true story. You can search it and you will find the court documents and hearings. the RV company is blamed for the mis-use of its product just because some dumb ass was driving it.

Sony is in the same spot. Nintendo could take legal action against Sony if a fully functional emulator for the GBA/DS workes on the PSP..[addsig]

Beh, its no biggie. Am I going to really want GTA for the PSP? well, not really. Besides, Am I gonna trade GTA for FFVI for the snes? Not really
But the question is, are you going to trade all of your games for your final fantasy. The hard truth is, you will have to update sooner or later because the games would not run on your psp, it will say"you have to upgrade the firmware to play this game" or some crap like that

ok, lets just pretend you have a psp but you dont know how to connect it to the internet or dont have internet access?? how are you saposta update it without internet access???
and for your answer, I am guessing the firmware updates will be built in the game. So there is no way around this one you guys.[addsig]

Woah, slow down tiger. If you don't have internet access, you shouldn't be posting here at PSP-Vault.

Sony provides firmware updates on newer game discs. In fact, the updates are mandatory...oh wait, that's what this thread is about!

Sony also provides the necessary files for updating via their website. The files are downloaded to the user's computer, transferred to the PSP using USB, then manually run by selecting the upgrader application under "Memory Stick" in "Game."
I have internet, duh
i post here all the time
but what if someone doesnt? It just kinda bothers me to think that its manditory to have a computer these days if you want to play a video game system. Then again, I guess if you didnt own a computer then you probably wouldnt own a psp. But still
It bothers me
Why cant games just be games these days? As much as I love watching movies and listening to music on my psp, it just seems like a mini entertainment system instead of a game system. And that doesnt bother me so I have no idea WHY im ranting but its just
weird
i dunno, im not use 2 it i guess

Kingkevin, not to be mean or anything but you have made 2 posts in this thread and both of them we're hideous. You didn't use correct punctuation, no capitalization and many other errors. I don't mean to be mean or criticize you by any means. What I am trying to do here is to make you realize that this is not a Yahoo! Chat Room. I'm trying to make you learn from your mistakes.

-Back on Topic-

Well, I do think that Sony is doing the right thing. I mean, don't you understand where Sony is coming from? That's why we will probably never see UMD burner or anything else like that. Piracy. But yes, Sony could lighten up a little bit. [addsig]

He's right! It is a true story! This website contains the top stupidiest lawsuits that won. The RV story won 1st place in the contest.

Like i mentioned in previous post people should send their homebrew (Legal Homebrews) to Sony and maybe, just maybe they might sign it and release it.

Sony isnt that much of an asshole to refuse legal homebrew software and games to increase PSP sales. Hell they even created a low cost Linux kit for the PS2, what does that say to you? Homebrew makers arent going at this the right way. SOny wont allow illegal homebrew to run on their PSPs. They will do everything to stop it. And while they spend more time trying to fix holes in the PSPs they spend less time trying to improve and add features to the firmware.

I bet anything if they didnt have to worry about illegal homebrew, we would probably have had a better firmware by now. Instead all were getting is firmware that fixes exploits.[addsig]

Do yall even read the thread before you post, I discussed this a way back. But point is we will all have to upgrade. Face it. If you want to play games you have to updated. It sucks, and we can complain about it all we want and it wont leave. Sony will make us suffer if we decide not to update. And that is to not have any games to play. And I consider that suffering.[addsig]
