They downgrade because they want to run hombrew on there psp. And there's a cool thing you can do with firmware 1.50 if you know a hack.

people who downgrade should not do iso i cant return my crapy game for syphon filter because they think i do iso. the stores not the people[addsig]

can any one please help me out i have a psp-2004 slim and its version is 3.80m33-3 and i want to upgrade its version to 3.90m33. And my query is that i can upgrade its version directly or i have to downgrade it first

if its already on the M33 CFW then you are good. You can find a tutorial for more details (in this site no less).
You'll need the legit FW, 3.90 and 1.50 and the M33 CFW 3.90 upgrade. Follow the directions in the txt file and you should be golden.

If you were to go up to 5.00 you dont need the 1.50 FW.
You'll need the legit FW, 5.00 and the M33/DA CFW 5.00 upgrade. Get the 5.00m33-4 update too. Follow the directions in the txt file and you should be golden.
