Support WILL be added with a firmware update on the PSP.
Thanks HarryTuttle, that's very good to hear. Still curious where you got this information.[addsig]

- [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] - Downloaded Sonicstage 3 (SS3) and the plugin
- Installed SS3, let it reboot, installed the plugin
- Loaded SS3, during first time setup pointed it to my MP3 dir and let it scan/make it's Library
- Search through the library to find the song I wanted to toss on the PSP, dbl clicked it
- Plugged in USB cable to PSP and set it to USB mode. SS3 automatically reconized my "Memory Stick(PSP)"
- Right clicked the MP3 song and selected "Convert Format"
- I picked ATRAC3plus at 64kbps. Your milage will vary here. The default 256 made the converted file larger. They both sound the same to me, the origanal MP3 and the ATRAC converted one when playing them back on my PC with my $20 headset *shrug*
- SS3 makes the converted file wherever your settings are for "Location for imported files"
- With the song on the left highlighted, I clicked the right arrow to transfer to the PSP
- Wait a few seconds, it will now transfer the converted ATRAC3Plus file to the PSP in its own Album folder

Checking the memcard files out, doing this makes a CONTROL and HIFI dir in the root. CONTROL has a few tiny files/folders in it while HIFI has four small MSF files and one 2 meg MSA file with a name quite different then the MP3.

Seeing how I am too cheap/poor atm to get a larger memstick duo card, squishing these ATRAC3Plus files onto the included 32meg duo is quite nice. Wished you could just convert and plop on the files like any old MP3 but I guess we can thank Sony for their closed environment for that.
Anyone knoew where to get the coversion plugin? I cannot locate it and the conversion part is noit available...

any hints?[addsig]

The "Step 2" option is the exe that is the mp3 converter plugin.

Sonicstage loaded up will detect my PSP when I select USB mode on the PSP as "Memory Stick (PSP)" *shrug*[addsig]

I think the problem I am having is because I am running Win 2K and not XP.

Bummer. Rather than spend the $ on the upgrade I would rather buy a 1GB stick.....[addsig]

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh !!!! THE 32 meg card that comes with the psp is PRO stick and it works with atrac ! it has nothing to do with it being pro or not
and to clarify the memory stick pro cards are sonys older larger card format ALL of the cars that will fit into the psp are pro duo cards as that is thene smaller sony memory stick in regards to it supporting magicgate I have yet to find a pro duo card that does not, my issue is that the two files that sonicsage create on my 32 meg called control and hifi are not on my new lexar 256 nad I know this is the issue because , I looked at the file structure on my 32 meg anf the atrac files get transfered to this hifi file, now, i tried copying these two file to my new card and it did nt work, I think the issue is similar to the proce for atrac transfering you cannot simpy drag and drop a atrac, some how sonic stage must need to format you memory card with these two files as it did with the 32, I have not fingured out how yet......will post when I figure it out[addsig]

The 32 MB card that came with my PSP is not a PRO card.

As far as I understand, the Duo format is the smaller format. The PRO format can be either the smaller card (duo) or the larger card (non-duo).[addsig]
