You really think that Bungie will be able to pull that off. Remeber the original release date for Halo 2. They say they will release it at that time, then realize they need to make changes and the game will actually be released a year later.[addsig]

I don't believe ANYTHING video game related until I see it. Dates constantly change as does the hype and the features and everything else. All I can say is that I hope they take their time and get the consoles AND the software right before they launch the next gens. I'm getting tired of buying th brand new toy and not have anything worth playing to put in it. The PSP had a good lineup at least. But still not nearly what they were promising up to a month before launch.[addsig]

This is a common misconception. I was an insane Bungie fan there was so much speculation regarding dates flying around the internet. Officially though, Bungie only announced two "dates", Fall 2004 and November 9, 2004.[addsig]

What I don't understand is all of the stores had at one point a release date for 4-4-04. I don't understand how they would get that date w/o either Bungie or MS telling them that. And if I remembercorrectly, I read an article in EGM back in 2002 saying the release would be in Winter 03. But that was 3 years ago and being a pothead doesn't help your memory.[addsig]

Alas .. Rumor fuels a lot of things. Its the nature of the industry.

Oddly enough it seems that every good FPS misses its Release date.

Speaking of which... i wonder how an FPS would plan on psp.[addsig]

Think back to the PS1 days, Sony Buried the Saturn, fought off the N64 and finished Sega by keeping the Dreamcast at a distance. Sony stormed the markets in the UK with the PS2 aswell, as it stands the consoles are something like:
PS2 - 70%
Xbox - 19%
NGC - 11%
So obviously there will be a heap of dedicated customers awaiting the PS3, make your own conclusions.
Actually, I beg to differ. The deciding factor for me towards getting the PSP or the DS was because I heard that GT:Mobile was coming out. I live and breathe this game. I don't really believe on the "customer loyality" thing. I believe that comsumers consume thing that they want now. Maybe back in the day, there was some loyalty. But there is too much competition now.
And a side note: 13/11 statistics are improbable. [addsig]

I think Sony lost alot of there customer loyalty with the whole "Disc Read Error" fiasco. If I could go back and decide which console to buy I probably would have bought the xbox or GC first. Sony just seems to have a lot of QC issues with there first gen products. As can be seen with the dead pixel issue with the PSP. The only thing that the PS2 had going for it was 3rd party support, which the xbox now has and seeing as to how fast the xbox is selling now I believe it may win the home console race. Don't believe me, just call any EB Games or Gamestop and ask for a NEW xbox. They won't have one because demand is so high right now. I myself own two (one retail and one modded).[addsig]

I still have yet to get any "Disc Read Error" on my PS2, and I've had it for years. It's the original model and everything. You've just gotta take care of it, keep dust out of the fan, and maybe cuddle with it every now and then. It seems to like that.[addsig]
