Wow man, chill out. It's just a message board. And I am an X-Box fan too, are you calling ME stupid as well? [addsig]

I am far from a fanboy as I have yet to bash the PS2. I have just been stating why the Xbox is better. And yes I do own both systems including the GC. I have yet to spend $100 an accessories the first week of launch, unless you count games as accessories. The xbox memory card is worthless (unless you use it to soft mod). So you won't be able to take your saved games to a friends house, but it is definately not needed. On the controller issue you state you would want one or two. The PS2 doesn't even have 4 controller ports which means you have to shell out another $35 as well as the cost for the controllers to play a 4 player game. Your memory card was $34.99, but that does not include tax which would bring it closer to the $40 mark. Your right I would be a bit annoyed if my cable went up $5 for no reason. But if it went up and gave me access to the largest onling gaming community in the world I would gladly say, "$5? Thats it?"

I feel the Xbox is the best console as it is the most complete. No need to buy a memory card, HDD, network adapter, or a multitap. [addsig]

Once again, thats your opinion. I don't play 4 player games so that doesn't really matter. The network adapter comes with the system,an HDD is useless, and the memory card I do ALWAYS need considering I have seasons that me and a friend play on 3 different sports games. Not to mention unlocked characters they may want to use as well as levels,etc.etc. And finally, the cable issue, once again, the games I would want to play on XBox(doom 3 and halo)I could play on a quicker better looking machine thats already online without an additional fee. My PC.

What about the 2 million people who already have the older style PS2.

A HDD is not useless if you have the HD Loader software. And I never have to delete any of my saved games because if my memory card fills up I can transfer it to my HDD

Well with an Xbox you'll be able to lay these sports games seasons online. Thus rendering the memory card useless

Halo is a completly different game on PC than on the Xbox (Xbox version being the better of the two). Why pay $600-$700 on a PC that you need to run Doom 3 when its only $150 for xbox and that includes the xbox live subscription.

And you're right it is only my opinion and I won't be as arrogant as you to say it is the right one.[addsig]

Wow,soooo beating a dead horse. For the final time, you are currently typing on a Personal Computer or a Macintosh. That is a computer. Halo now cost $20 for the PC or Mac. Buy one. Play it. Not X-Box needed. Doom 3 is 29.99. Buy it. Download it. No X-Sux needed. As for the memory card,I don't know if you know what im talking about, but I enjoy friendly ommunication in person with a friend while I am playing a game. Sometimes it makes the game interesting and fun. A memory card would enable me to bring that progress over to his house. He,like many of people in my old neighborhood cannot afford a constant online fee of 50 bucks a month, therefore a memory card is the only option. If XBox was 50 I would THINK about buying one, probably not,but maybe I'd think of it. This topic is now closed. Dead subject. You like XBox more,I love PS2 more. Period.

How exactly do you know? maybe he's on his PDA, or better yet his xbox. My xbox has a linux build that allows me to use firefox, let alone linkbochs(Standalone browser)... maybe he's using his console to post... dont make assumptions until you know all the facts.

I believe i will side with fetus & G4ever here. You may not play 4 player games, but a lot of the rest of us actually have friends we game with... 4 ports becomes an important thing... I cant even imagine 2 player multiplayer anymore.

Out of the box the xbox allows you to:
*Play games exceeding both visual and audible quality of the PS2 & GameCube
*Set up custom soundtracks for games (custom entrance music in raw / better racing music in Gotham)
*Attach 4 controllers to the console
*play games on SECURED servers via Xbox-Live
*Live service can use HDD when patching overseen flaws in game (not possible on PS2... EVER)
~I could go deeper, but you have egg on your face as it is.

With about $100 in modifications (mod chip)
*Surf the internet in your living room
*connect a USB Keyboard & Mouse
*play roms off any old console (including PS & N64)
*run linux (this makes the possibilities pure endless)
*4 letters... XBMC (Xbox Media Center)
--->Allows media playback of nearly every format known to man
--->Plays DVDs without the dongle
--->Allows you to set up games in Xlink Kai all on the xbox
--->Streams media from any network share in your home (iTunes included)
--->Movie times, Yahoo launch browsing, IMDB lookups for all your media
--->Rips MP3s for you
*Copy all your games to the HDD eliminating load times

Try doing all the on a PS2 ... have fun

If you havent seen my xbox before I have indeed posted her here before:

Now, i welcome your debate.

I didn't read anything you said because of the way you came off in the first sentence so nice job wasting your time. However judging by your little pic there I assume niether me nor SmokingFetus are the fanboys here. The reason I 'closed' the topic is because I usually agree with what Fetus has to say and it's stupid for us to fight about our opinions.

yup, i am the fanboy. no doubt about it. I used to be a huge sony fanboy. But paying nearly $600 for a launch japanese PS2 just to have the company tell you "it's your problem" when something goes wrong will change you pretty fast.

As far as PS3 vs Xbox360... time will tell, but Sony may have a fight on their hands. They managed to piss off a lot of developers in the life cycle of the PS2. Keep in mind Rockstar (take 2 interactive) has chosen NOT to renew their exclusivity contract with Sony due to Restrictive & Demanding Licensing rules. Look at the list of Japanese developers jumping aboard the next xbox (including the creator of the final fantasy series) and i think microsoft has a winner.[addsig]

At least the new "war" will be fair. Sony got a MAJOR head start last time. Was never really a true competition. This time around, level playing field. Let the games begin![addsig]

wow, you guys are FANBOYS.

what was not fair last time? that the PS2 came out a year before the XBox, so what, MS used that to their advantage, they had a year to make sure the xbox was better on every way, the botton line is that is did not made a difference.

With all Mods aside (and this is the reason I do not own a XBox) the xbox out of the box had a DVD drive but could not play DVDs unless you buy the remote/dongle, had a network adapter but you could not play online games unless you pay for XBox life and last without Halo there could not even beat the gamecube by far.......these my friends are facts.

MS needs to come out of their software mentality to compete in the hardware maket which Sony owns. The NextGen console fight will be a cool one where the only winner should be us gamers not a giant greedy company, we shall see what happens next.....[addsig]
