How much will you pay for PS3?

Factoring in inflation, a blu-ray drive, something that will play my vast collection of dvd+r's, killer graphics nicer than a computer, and multiple connection slots, how could I not pay only 500 bucks for a system? You all along with me have spent more on a computer, why not spend $500 on a replacement computer? I spend 500 bucks just in PSP stuff(memory sticks, wifi router, and such) without even trying, I'll be more than happy to spend that just on the console. The thing everyone should be worrying about is how much your new HDTV is going to cost because you know you all need one now. the justification just came around to buy one. We aren't really talking spending 500 bucks on a console, it's about 1500 bucks total for a starter hdtv and ps3! Luckily we all have memory sticks now so we don't have to get new memory cards for ps3 games.[addsig]

Let's all stop going "I'm not paying a penny more then $300" because it will only get you this "Hah, we know you'll do it if we make you!" says sony with bloodlust.

It's looking like the system prices are going to be 300-500. I'm thinking the PS3 and Xbox360 will be $400-500, while the Revalution sits back at $300-400. [addsig]

I think it's funny that people will say they only pay $300 for the system. Come on the thing has two graphic cards in it that currently sells for $500. Not to mention it is also a HD DVD player (which I think stand alone HD DVD players will run around $200-$300).

I am so happy as I picked up a 50" HD DLP about a month or two ago. Finally I will be able to use it to it's full capabilities.[addsig]

I have a 27" WideScreen HDTV, but I'm going to by a 50" Widescreen LCD HDTV this summer ^_^.

I wonder if the systems will come with the HD cords, or the RF cords?

Also, if you guys didn't know this already, the PS3 can hook up to TWO tvs at the SAME time. Count that 2 TVs, both running HDTV, and both playing on the SAME console! I'll find the link in a minute. Which, when I read this, answered my question about the whole 7 controller deal.

Got HD Televisions?

Sony boasted in its E3 presentation that the PlayStation 3 could output 1080p over two separate HDMI outputs, enabling dual-HDTV gaming. However, this is a future-looking feature to say the least, as most HDTVs on the market today cannot output 1080p. Most HD televisions only support the standard 720p and 1080i HD resolutions. The "i" in 1080i stands for interlaced, and the "p" in 1080p stands for progressive. Interlaced video draws onto a TV using every other line. Progressive video, or progressive scan, allows the TV to render every line. Like 1080i, 1080p functions at a resolution of 1920x1080, but the progressive scan means that 1080p is twice as hard to do as 1080i. The PlayStation 3 should support composite, S-video, and component video outputs, but you might need to get a breakout cable to get these non-HDMI connectors.

I'll wait until the system is $300 or less. I waited for the PS2 to drop to $150 thats because it gets used more as a DVD player than a game system. So I can wait, but I don't want to. So heres hoing that it will launch for $300 or less.[addsig]
