i've stuck with sony products all my life they never seem to fail the ps2 smoked the xbox in my opinion and the ps3 will do the same to the xbox 360.[addsig]

I think Blissnabob is looking for specific reasons why "the Xbox 360 will blow the PS3 clear out of the stratosphere". I haven't read much about Xbox 360 so I'd love to know what you base that statement on.[addsig]

Well do you like playing online? If so then the 360 is far superior with its Live service.

Let's not forget that Sony has said they will not be shipping the PS3 with a HDD, and the 360 will come with an 20gb detachable HDD. Not only that but the 360 can interface with a media center PC and stream music, HD movies, and HD TV.

MS has said that the 360 will be able to interface with 3rd party devices ie. Ipod and PSP. And seeing that every game will support custom soundtracks makes this much cooler.

How many people her have a HD TV?
For those who answer yes, can it push 1080p?
Didn't think so, now are you gonna go out and buy one that can when the PS3 is launched?

Price is another issue. It is rumored the 360 will cost $299 and the PS3 will cost $399. You will also have to shell out more for the HDD.

Yes, the PS3 controller is looking horrible. But sony has stated that it still might be changed. I'm thinking sony will change the boomerang look. As for the HDD, Microsoft is surely heading in the right direction by making it an included piece, but as we saw with the PS2 HDD, the PS3 HDD might not even sell and may be desserted. I'm really excited to see if Microsoft will challenge Sony in the console war and I guess all we can do is wait. [addsig]

Yeah thanks Aeon for your ahem, 'opinion' (cough)FANBOY(cough) but as Dave pointed out, I was looking for specific reasons.
So far I have recieved all the info I need to make up my mind.
The X-Box 360 will more than cater for my gaming needs. Whereas the PS3 will be an online multimedia behemoth! I have a PC for all that jazz! Financially the 360 makes better sense.

I think I will get a PS3 at some point though, just when it's cheaper.

I think it is funny how everybody says the PS3 is gonna blow the 360 outta the water because of the graphics. Yet most of those people like the PS2 more then the Xbox, I just don't get it. [addsig]

I think that for em the big selling point is that I don't have an XboX nor do I plan on ever owning one, just don't do enough gaming for more than one system. The PS3 will play all of the previous systems games, and it has the same multi-media stuff that the 360 does. I have a media box already for streaming content, so the fact that the 360 has a HDD is a non-issue for me. So what it really comes do to for me is the continues use of the the equipment that I have.[addsig]

lol, this is funny now. How does xbox 360 is going to blow ps3? If you are talking about on LIVE that's for sure. But when it comes to games, graphics and power 360 is way behind from ps3. I mean just look at the sepcs. Xbox 360 is running on HD-DVD (9 gig of data) but ps3 is runnin gon BLUE-RAY (50 or more gigs of dada). So imagine how long the games will be on ps3, specially GTA. omg i can't wait !

Are you saying that XBOX 360 has better graphics than PS3?[addsig]

Both will be good, but the pick should be simple. If your into hard core RPGs, go with the PS3. If your into shooters and sports, the Xbox 360 should be fine.
