Gamerdude: The Newbie title is based on your post-count. Just keep making posts (don't flood, keep it useful and relevant) and you'll become Not Newbie, then Freshman, and on up the rankings. Welcome to the forums, by the way.[addsig]

Newbies become normal members after they have proven their ability to read and abide by the forum rules. If a newbie's first posts are evidence of this, they have already become a "normal member."

This part has nothing to do with your actual title, and everything to do with putting effort in to abide by the forum rules. For reference, Gamerdude, you've already been a normal member for quite some time.[addsig]

Zmc, Can you make a link when people join, that forces them to go to the rules page, and then put in HUGE red letters, that this page MUST be read and understood properly before you can continue to start posting?[addsig]

Nice idea, but when people (like me) download something/join a site that says "YOU MUST READ AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS", they usually just skip that and click "I agree."[addsig]

DON'T USE ALL CAPS. HEY GUYS CAN YOU SEE THIS TEXT DOES IT STAND OUT? Oh, that's right, all caps does nothing but look annoying. If you want to grab people's attention, use formatting options that are built-in to the forums. Clicking on the "b" button, for example, will prompt you to type some text that will be bolded.

I *could* start an arguement about that comment, but I just can't be bothered. As our posts weren't "completly" made up of CAPS, and they were used sparingly to emphasise points valid to the topic. So don't preach to people about rules without reading them yourself first as the rule is "Don't use ALL caps"and NOT don't use *any" caps.

I thought Yams was a derrogative term for people from Birmingham...
& "..." is known as ellipsis & has a proper use in written English language, for the emitted part of a sentance that's understood as known.
I feel your rules are a little heavy mate! I like the site, even tho it's a little slow loading, but what happened to free expression & allowing society to govern itself? Rather than been confined by an A:Z of instructions.
But what I'm really trying to put across, without offending anyone, is that some of your rules are a little bit anal )

PS> Great site, loving working thro the boards. Just why close threads off, that are of no offence? Read thro 5 pages, ready to make a listing, thought fair to read all. Then finally get to the end to find it locked, Doh!

I thought I'd stumbled onto the PSPolice forum LOL. Just kidding! I really like the rest of the site, though. If n00bs (or indeed, YAMS)can force themselves not to react to the Nazi ForumsTM, like I did, it's actually a pretty informative and cool place to spend some surfing time.[addsig]
