Firmware 5.01 offers a patch that allows users to save PlayStation Store content onto 8GB and 16GB memory sticks.

Changes in 5.01:
  • Corrects issues relating to 8GB and 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duos.
To update your PSP:
  • Download the attached file
  • Connect your PSP to your PC via USB
  • Unzip the file and open it
  • Drag the "UPDATE" folder into the "GAME" folder of your PSP's memory stick
  • Exit USB mode, and run the update under Game

I have tried doing it for 5.51 but it will not downgrade it.

Was it custom or official? There is no HEN or exploit for 5.51. What PSP model is it,

Does this support Homebrew? Several I've looked at don't, but this doesn't specify.

Offcial firmwares can't run homebrew.
Use a custom firmware.
