There are three ways to produce FMEE Fat Methyl Ester Ethoxylates.
First, fatty acids is ethoxylated in order to get polyoxyethylene ether. Next, methanol is esterified to get. The second step is to use methanol for ethoxylation, to produce methylglycol polyether and then perform esterification with fatty acids. Two-step processes, high cost and low content of active material, polyethylene glycol or diesters are the by-products of these two routes. The third process involves the addition of methyl ester fatty acids to ethylene oxide. The process is simple and low-cost. This synthesis is used by the FMEE production companies, like Sihe Petroleum or Malepine Petroleum.
