In the process of using bearings, failures may occur due to various reasons, resulting in the equipment cannot be used frequently. So what is the cause of the bearings problem? Here are six common failure situations encountered by bearings.
 1. Glue failure
Glue failure usually occurs due to cementation, so what is cementation? How does cementation happen? Consolidation refers to the phenomenon that a local metal on a surface adheres to another metal surface. Cementation occurs because the bearing is continuously used at high speed and overloaded under the condition of insufficient lubrication. Due to the resistance and heat generation of the bearing, the temperature of the bearing will rise rapidly in a short time, resulting in burning and adhesion of the bearing surface.
2. The bearing is cracked.
Bearing cracks can cause mechanical failure. Bearing cracks are a common cause of bearing failure. Bearing cracks are mainly caused by overload. In addition, improper installation, such as grinding, heat treatment, improper placement and excessive temperature, can also cause bearing cracks. Similarly, the installation specifications and installation sequence are also some reasons that may cause the bearing to break.
3. The bearing cage is damaged.
Most of the damage to the bearing cage is caused by improper installation and use. Incorrect use and installation can deform the bearing cage. The deformation of the bearing cage will increase the resistance between it and the rollers, which will cause some of the rollers to become stuck and unable to rotate. This will also cause interference between the cage and the internal bearing. If it is not handled in time, the bearing will be damaged.
4. Plastic deformation
The main cause of plastic deformation is that the bearing has been subjected to excessive impact load or static load, it may also be an additional load caused by thermal deformation, or it may be the purpose of dents or scratches on the raceway surface caused by intrusive high hardness. The occurrence of this situation will cause the bearing to emit violent vibration and noise during the rotation. If indentation occurs, surface parts may fall off.
 5. Corrosion of bearings
Bearing corrosion is one of the serious problems faced by bearings. The cause of bearing corrosion is the indirect intrusion of water, acid and alkali. This corrosion is fatal to high-precision bearings and can cause bearing failure. This happens because after the bearing stops working, the temperature on the bearing surface will drop below the dew point, and water molecules will condense into water on the bearing surface, causing bearing corrosion. Another type of corrosion is electric corrosion. The occurrence of electrical corrosion is the reaction between electric current and the oil film on the bearing surface. The oil film will spark and cause the bearing to be electrically corroded.
6. Bearing wear
Bearing wear is mainly caused by the intrusion of dust and impurities. The absolute movement of the raceways and rollers will cause surface wear. In addition, insufficient lubrication will increase wear. This wear effect will increase the clearance of the bearing and make the bearing surface rougher, resulting in a decrease in bearing accuracy. The reduction of bearing accuracy will reduce the efficiency of the machine and make the vibration and noise of the machine greater.
