This ester has many hydrophilic groups. It is miscible in water, ethanol, and ethyl alcohol, but insoluble in non-volatile and light petroleum oils, liquid paraffins. One part is soluble with 130 parts cottonseed oils and 200 parts toluene. The pH of the aqueous solution is between 5 and 7. It is soluble with corn oil, dioxane (carbon tetrachloride), fibrin, methanol and ethanol.
